Local Service Opportunities

There are many opportunities for the Glenwood family to reach out and serve people in our surrounding community.  On Sunday, November 18th in the foyer, we had representatives from the following ministries ready to answer any questions about your future involvement.  We hope that you will take time to explore these options and prayerfully consider serving in the area God leads.  To get connected with the below ministries, please contact Shelly Kirgiss in the church office (360-571-3300).  She can direct you to those who lead these ministries.

Christmas Trees

A great group of guys headed up into the hills today to get this year's Christmas trees for the Worship Center.  If you see one of the guys on Sunday, give 'em a hearty thanks!

Head over to the photo album on the Glenwood Facebook page to take a look!

Merger Christmas Party

This is the fourth year that Glenwood has funded a party for the students of CENV in Merger, Haiti. Each child is given a small gift; in addition there are games and singing. Parents are invited, and everyone receives a hot meal. If you would like to contribute, please make your check out to Glenwood and designate it for the Merger Christmas Fund. You can send your sponsored child a Christmas card. Please allow two or three weeks for it to get to the school.

Christmas Celebration Choir

We invite you to participate in the choir scheduled to share in the three worship services on the morning of December 16.  There will be one practice on Saturday morning, December 15 in the Fellowship Hall from 9:00-12:00.  Music and practice CDs will soon be available.  Anyone 16 and older is welcome to join us!

Hats & Gloves

Would you like to help make sandwiches and travel to areas in Portland to distribute them along with hats and gloves to those in need?  If so, bring your turkey (or other meat) leftovers to the church the day after Thanksgiving (Friday, November 23) at 10:00 a.m. in the kitchen.

Welcoming New Participants

This year’s Sonshine Player musical is Kingdom Quest.  Through the discovery of a new video game, siblings Holly and Tyler step into the medieval world of battles and face the ultimate challenge of winning The Battle of Never-Ending Light.  This exciting musical teaches that to face spiritual challenges, we must suit up daily in the Armor of God (Ephesians 6:10-17).

Sonshine Players meet on Sunday mornings (October 7 - June 9) during the third hour (11:00 to 12:15) in room 305.  We welcome new participants.

Fall Back!

Daylight Saving Time ends next Sunday, November 4, 2012. Remember to set your clocks back one hour next Saturday night.

Messaging the Gospel - Books/Links

Pastor Paul talked about a few resources during his Oct 21 sermon, Messaging the Gospel, that do a good job of encapsulating the Gospel and provide great discussion points in sharing the Gospel of Jesus Christ with others.  Please see the links below:
