Short Term

Global Outreach (GO) Teams are small, high impact teams that work on tasks in a cross cultural setting. Typically, they are made up of individuals with particular skills relating to the needed task.  Following our vision for Global Outreach, GO teams from Glenwood are sent to support those called to serve on a long term basis by assisting with the development of national workers and leaders.

Operation Christmas Child is an annual ministry in which Glenwood Community Church has participated for many years.  As a ministry of Samaritan's Purse, Operation Christmas Child is simple in premise: by providing a shoebox filled with both practical and playful gifts to a child in need, a doorway is opened for the Gospel of Jesus Christ to be shared.  Just as a gift given in love communicates to any one of us that we are loved and cared for, so does an Operation Christmas Child shoebox communicate to a child who may or may not know such love.

Since 1988 the Youth Group Short Term Mission (STM) teams have worked in both cross-cultural and local settings during the spring and summer, often traveling to Mexico to work with YUGO Mission and to Canada, where they participate in the ministry of Rock Nest Ranch to local native Americans.

The Short Term Missions Sale is an annual event at Glenwood Community Church. It is a large yard / garage sale and all proceeds are used to fund Short Term Missions sponsored by Glenwood Community Church. Items sold at the sale are donations from the community, usually from the Glenwood congregation. The sale is open to the public.  This year, the STM sale will be May 17-19.
