The Musicians

Tatiana Kolchanova holds a PhD from Moscow, Russia Tchaikovsky Conservatory. She worked as a violinist for the Russia Central Radio and TV Orchestra for eight years and was First Violin for the Glinka State (Russia) Quartet for ten years. Tatiana was touring extensively throughout the world performing with well-known musicians including famous Zubin Mehta and Jessye Norman. Tatiana has taught at the Moscow Conservatory, the Conservatory's Academic Music College, Central Music School and "New Names" Foundation.  Currently Tatiana lives in Washougal, WA. She was an assistant concertmaster of the Vancouver Symphony for 6 years, a core violinist of Portland Opera Orchestra for 4 years, a substitute for the Oregon Symphony for 5 years. She is a founder and teacher of the Music &Arts Academy, Camas, WA; founder and conductor of the Camas-Washougal Community Orchestra.

Barbara Johnston is principal cellist of the Portland Columbia Symphony Orchestra and the Newport Symphony Orchestra. Her solo appearances with numerous orchestras of the Pacific Northwest have included works by Schumann, Elgar, Bloch, Creston, Boccherini, Moor, Vivaldi, Faure, Saint-Saens and Richard Strauss.  Barbara studied music at Stanford University, the University of California at Berkeley and the Guildhall School in London. Among her teachers were Colin Hampton of the Griller Quartet, William Pleeth of London's Allegri Quartet, and Raymond Davis, principal cellist of the Seattle Symphony. She has played with the Oregon Symphony, Seattle Symphony, Pacific Northwest Ballet, Seattle Opera and Oregon Ballet Theater.  After retiring from her legal career, Barbara has been able to devote significant additional time to chamber music.  She lives in Scappoose with her husband, Craig.

Colleen Adent is a classically-trained, improvisationally-minded pianist, and performs a wide range of musical styles. A versatile soloist, arranger, and accompanist, Colleen Adent began her formal musical training at the age of four.  Collaborative playing as well as solo appearances have taken her throughout the United States, Canada, Europe and Australia.  She is a performing artist with Snowman Foundation’s Ten Grand concerts with Michael Allen Harrison.  Colleen was a quarterfinalist in the 2016 Cliburn International Amateur Piano Competition.  Current projects include arranging for voice and piano, solo piano, and soaking up the joys of making music with friends!  Colleen has published Fount Of Every Blessing, a collection of original hymn arrangements, with Fred Bock Music Co., and those arrangements can be heard on her CD, Count It All Joy.   She and her husband reside in Vancouver, WA, where she maintains a private teaching studio.  Please visit Colleen at colleenadent.com.
