Youth Ministry this Summer

Hello Students and Parents!

We are so excited to continue meeting this summer. Looking ahead, we will be meeting together at Glenwood Community Church each week for both Youth Group meetings and Discipleship Groups. Please see all details below:

Summer Camp

We are ecstatic to have the privilege of attending summer camp this year! High School and Middle School camps will be in July. Camp is $65 per student. We are planning to have a normal summer as possible with limited restrictions. In the section below there will be a Frequently Asked Questions regarding summer camp details. To reserve a spot, please bring both payment and completed forms to Andrew Zegan or the church office.

Youth Group in the Summer
Doors open at 6:30 pm, Main

Starting June 9th, both High School and Middle School ministries will be meeting at GCC from 7:00pm to 8:30pm (doors will open at 6:30pm). To ensure safety, High School and Middle School will alternate between meeting in their discipleship groups or as a large group.

Youth Group Schedule (Wednesdays at GCC, 7:00pm - 8:30pm)
Week 1 and 3: High School meets in their discipleship groups while Middle School meets in the Worship Center for Youth Group.
Week 2 and 4: Middle School meets in their discipleship groups while High School meets in the Worship Center for Youth Group.

July 14th - Youth Group in the Summer
July 21st - No meeting (HS/MS at Summer Camp July 19-22)
July 28th - Youth Group in the Summer

We will be off during the month of August.

Youth Ministry Sunday Service

Starting June 6th, we will only have one service hour available for students. Join us for a time of fellowship, worship, and teaching every Sunday morning at 9am – Middle School in Room 314 and High School in Room 305.

Summer Camp Frequently Asked Questions

1. When/Does my student have to wear a mask?
Answer: To ensure safety, we have guidelines in place. Masks will need to be worn indoors and, on the bus, exceptions include eating, drinking, or sleeping. Masks are not required outdoors.

2. Are vaccinations / Covid-19 tests required to go to camp?
Answer: After long considerations of all scenarios our church leadership has decided no, we are not requiring vaccinations or Covid-19 tests before camp. We do require all parents to screen their student for Covid-19 48 hours prior to attending summer camp.

3. What activities will my student be able to do at camp?
Answer: We plan to do outdoor running and swimming activities.

4. What will food look like at camp?
Answer: We will provide all meals for students during camp. Allergy friendly meals can be provided. Make sure to mention specific allergies in the medical form.

5. What does my student need to bring to camp?
Answer: There is a "what to bring" file in the downloadable files for camp.

6. Does my student have to bring their own tent?
Answer: We encourage everyone to bring their own tent. Grouping students of the same gender up to five is permitted.

7. Where are we going to camp?
Answer: Both Middle/High School will be going to Loomis Lake.

8. Who do we contact in case of an emergency?
Answer: You can contact Andrew Zegan. Contact info will be handed out before leaving for camp.

9. When is the deadline for summer camp?
Answer: The sooner we get your students registration the better we can prepare.
