Privacy Policy

This privacy policy advises you about our guidelines concerning the use of your personal information.  Glenwood Community Church strongly believes in protecting the integrity and privacy of personal information gathered through all of our communication channels, including from visitors to our website. The protection of your privacy is of great importance to us; we have created this privacy policy to communicate our practices regarding the collection and dissemination of personal and non-personal information that you provide to us.

We may need to change this policy from time to time in order to address new issues and reflect changes on our website. We will post those changes here so that you will always know our policies regarding what information we gather, how we might use that information and whether we will disclose that information to anyone.

Addresses (email and physical) and phone numbers

We take precautions to ensure that your internet account and personal information are accessible only by employees and lay church leaders who are authorized to have access to your personal information. You've entrusted us with your personal information, and we're committed to using it wisely. Glenwood will not sell your personal information to anyone, for any reason, at any time.

Further, this web site does not publicly list physical addresses, phone numbers or email addresses without prior consent of the individual. If you wish to learn more about an event or determine the location of a meeting at someone's home, please contact the church office.

Financial Information

In addition to your contact information, when you make a donation or event/materials payment, Glenwood asks for your billing address and credit card or other financial services information.  Glenwood uses a third-party merchant services provider (iATS Payments) to process your payments via a secured server that encrypts your credit card/bank information. iATS Payments is certified at PCI Level 1, the highest possible level for data security standards.  You can view their Privacy Policy.  For more on PCI Compliance, see www.pcisecuritystandards.org.  Glenwood does not store the credit/debit card or bank account numbers you provided online.  iATS does not share or use personally identifiable information for secondary purposes.

Security

We use HTTPS across all pages of our site. We work to protect the security of your information during transmission by using Transport Security Layer (TLS), which encrypts information you input.
It is important for you to protect against unauthorized access to your Glenwood account.  Please safe guard your Glenwood username and password as well as your computer. Be sure to sign off when finished if you are using a shared computer.

Non-personal Information

Glenwood Community Church uses Google Analytics, a web analytics service provided by Google, Inc. which allows us to gauge visititation patterns to our website.  This service collects information such as the visitor's IP address, site traffic patterns and server usage statistics (including the browser, screen size and operatin system used by the visitor). Google Analytics uses “cookies”, which are text files placed on your computer, to help the website analyze how users use the site. These small text files do not damage a visitor's system or files. Most browsers will allow a user to accept or deny cookies. You may refuse the use of cookies by selecting the appropriate settings on your browser. If a visitor rejects our cookies, they may still use our site. The non-personal information generated by the cookie about your use of the website (including your IP address) will be transmitted to and stored by Google on its servers.  Google will use this information for the purpose of evaluating your use of the website, compiling reports on website activity for website operators and providing other services relating to website activity and internet usage.  Google may also transfer this information to third parties where required to do so by law, or where such third parties process the information on Google’s behalf. Google will not associate your IP address with any other data held by Google.  To be clear, Google Analytics collects information anonymously. It reports website trends without identifying individual visitors.  By using this website, you consent to the processing of such data by Google in the manner and for the purposes set out above. You can also opt out of Google Analytics without affecting how you visit our site – for more information on opting out of being tracked by Google Analytics across all websites you use, visit this Google page.

Photographs and Videos

From time to time, photographs and videos are published on the web site taken in Sunday School classes, youth events, or at other church activities. If you do not wish yourself or other family members to be in photos, videos, or identified by name, please contact the church office.

Because of the proliferation of spam directed at email addresses available on the internet, staff contact information is not published on the Glenwood website.  To send a message to staff members, please see the contact forms available on the Staff page.  To contact a staff member by phone, please call the church office.
