Giving FAQs and Contact
How do I give during Covid-19
Thank you for your continued generosity during this time. We are picking up our mail regularly and our Offering Processing Team continues to count and deposit all gifts received once a week. Here are a number of ways to give.
- Drop off your gift at Glenwood. You can drop your offering in one of our Offering Boxes in the foyer on a Sunday morning. You may also drop off your offering at our office during the week. We recommend calling our office (360-571-3300), Tuesday-Friday, 9am-4pm, to arrange a time to meet you at the door. Please put your gift in a sealed envelope.
- Mail your gift to:
Glenwood Community Church
12201 NE 72nd. Ave.
Vancouver, WA 98686 - You can give via text by sending a text message to 855-905-0876 with the amount you would like to contribute (For example, 25). Within a few minutes, you will be sent a text with a link to register. Click on the link and enter your cardholder name and credit or debit card information. Once your registration is complete, you will receive a text verification and a receipt of your donation via email.
- Use our online giving option. Go to the "Give" tab on the upper right-hand corner of this page. You can give to the General Fund through online giving. Click the "General Fund" button and it will take you to our encrypted & secure giving partner (Vanco Payments) for processing.
If you have other questions about giving, see the rest of our FAQs below.
How do I give online?
Click on General Giving, and you'll be taken to a page to fill out your donation. Complete the two page form, and click Process. An email receipt will be sent to you. You can give online from your checking or savings account via Electronic Funds Transfer (EFT) or credit/debit card (Visa, MasterCard, Discover, or American Express). The page is managed by Vanco Payments. The web address of the donation page begins with eservicepayments.com.
Can I review my transaction history online?
Yes, if you create an "Online Profile" with Vanco from the donation page. Online donations prior to April 18, 2018 are not viewable online, but are part of your giving record which will be reflected on your year-end contribution statement. Please note that any contributions or event payments you make with a regular check or cash will not be reflected on your online record, and therefore you should not use your online history for tax purposes. We will include your online tax-deductible donations in your annual contribution statement, which will include all gifts to the church. If you gave without being signed in or without a Vanco online profile, and subsequently sign up for an online profile, there may be a delay to connect your new account to your pre-account gifts. If you give with different email addresses, the online profile giving history will only show those gifts associated with the email address you used to create the profile. All online gifts (regardless of email address) will be reflected on your year-end contribution statement.
Can I schedule recurring giving?
Yes, you can schedule recurring gifts weekly or monthly with the "Contribution Frequency" option.
How do I adjust or cancel my recurring gift?
Visit Update My Recurring Contribution to communicate with the church office about future contributions.
How does text giving work?
Simply send a text message to 855-905-0876 with the amount you would like to contribute (example: 25). Within a few minutes, you’ll be sent a text with a link to register. Click on the link and enter your cardholder name and credit or debit card information. Once your registration is complete, you will receive a text verification and a receipt of your donation via email.
For future giving, send a text with the amount you wish to give, and it will process automatically! You can even text “repeat” to make it a recurring donation.
Additional instructions on how to get text giving setup can be found here. For a list of keywords and messages that you can use to request a refund, setup scheduled giving, as well as other actions, click here.
Are my gifts tax-deductible?
Yes, the entirety of gifts for which no goods or services were received is tax-deductible. Glenwood is a registered 501(c)(3) organization as described in the Internal Revenue Code.
Is paying for an event or study materials tax-deductible?
Paying for an event or study materials is not a tax-deductible donation because you are receiving a good or service in exchange for the donation.
Do online and text donations have additional service fees associated with them?
Yes, Glenwood pays a nominal transaction fee charged by our merchant-services provider, Vanco Payments. You will not pay any fees when giving online, and the entirety of your gift is tax-deductible. While online giving through credit/debit card and EFT are both cost-efficient and simple ways for our church to process donations, using EFT is the most cost-efficient option.
When is my gift transferred from my card or bank account?
Our vendor processes Credit and Debit card transactions immediately and is usually noted as a transaction by your card provider shortly thereafter.
For EFT, our vendor sends the transaction to your financial institution for approval. Transactions are then approved by your financial institution typically within 2-3 business days. Please note: Your financial institution determines the processing time and when the transaction posts to your account. Each institution handles this differently.
The ministry to which I wish to donate is not showing as an option. How do I make a donation for another fund/ministry?
Currently, only the General Fund is available for online donations. To give to another fund, please place your gift with a note indicating the fund in the offering during a Sunday morning service or mail your check to:
Glenwood Community Church
12201 NE 72nd Avenue
Vancouver, WA 98686
Is my financial account(s) information stored by Glenwood?
No, Glenwood does not store your credit/debit card or bank account numbers. Your donation is processed through Vanco Payments, a merchant-services provider certified at PCI Level 1, the highest possible level for data security standards. For more on PCI Compliance, see www.pcisecuritystandards.org.
What type of security exists with regards to my financial data?
All information is submitted using the latest standards in financial encryption. This encryption is recognized as the security standard for online giving. You can view Glenwood's Privacy Policy here.
