Welcome to Glenwood!
We know that it can be an anxious experience to walk in the doors of a new church, and it’s helpful to know what to expect. We look forward to meeting you and welcoming you to Glenwood.
Service times are 9:00am and 10:45am
Newcomers Guide
We are grateful and honored that you’d take the time to visit. While our primary value is for the people of God to gather in person, we also understand that many like to see a service online before they come in person. If that’s you, you can view a live service at our regular meeting times on Sunday: 9:00am and 10:45am at this link. We do hope that it will encourage you to come check it out in person.
What time should I arrive?
Our services begin at 9:00am and 10:45am, and start fairly promptly at their designated times, so we recommend arriving 10-15 minutes early to get your bearings, grab a cup of coffee, and check your kids in.
Where are you located?
Our address us 12201 NE 72nd Ave, Vancouver, WA. If you need directions, you can find them here.
What should I wear?
We want people to feel comfortable, so come as you are. You’ll find some people wearing a shirt and tie, and some dressing casually. Our hope is that you find connection to God and a church family here, regardless of the attire you choose.
What can I expect at the worship services?
In our services we sing together, pray together, and learn together from God’s Word. We also celebrate communion on the first Sunday of each month. We have multiple staff that share the preaching duties, but regardless of who is teaching, the goal is always the same: to discover the meaning of God’s Word, its significance for our lives, and let it shape us through the work of the Holy Spirit. You can watch a sample of our preaching on our Sermons page.
What about my kids?
Nurturing children and students in a safe environment is a core value at Glenwood. We have a number of Sunday morning children’s classes from infant through 5th grade during each service, as well as classes during the 9:00am service for Middle School and High School. Please feel free to have your kids participate in the service with you if that is your preference.
How do I find what I need?
There will be several trained volunteers to help with whatever you need. Just look for anyone with a lanyard and they will be happy to help.
What do you believe?
You can find our vision, values, and doctrinal statements here.
What’s next?
We love it when people come check us out, but, ultimately, we’d love to help you in your walk with Jesus. Everyone has a next step and we’d like to help you find yours. The next step is to connect with one of our staff members so that we can point you in the right direction.
