2024 SonHarvest County Fair Volunteer Opportunities!

Join Uncle Zeke and Auntie Opal on their farm where we'll learn how to grow love, sprout joy, plant peace, and fertilize forgiveness!  It's sure to be a blue ribbon year at SonHarvest County Fair!

Below you will find important dates as well as the various ways in which you might serve at our VBC camp on June 24-28, 2024 from 9:00am - 12:00pm, Monday - Friday.

Mark your calendar: 

  • Friday, June 7th - 6:30-9:00pm for our VBC Kick-off Meeting
  • Wednesday, June 19th - 11:00am-4:00pm for our decoration and preparation day
  • Saturday, June 22nd - 9:00am - 12:00pm for our VBC Send-off Meeting
  • Sunday, June 23rd - 12:00 - 3:00pm for classroom and stage set up
  • M-F, June 24th-28th - VBC Volunteer schedule:  8:00am - 12:30pm  (Friday will end closer to 1:00pm to allow for take-down and clean-up.)

Glenwood Children's Ministry  

VBC Camp Roles:

Bakers*:  Bake treats for VBC campers to enjoy during camp.  Baked goods are brought to the church on or before Sunday, June 23rd.  Recipes will be provided.

  • Skit / Prop Creation Team*:  Create farm-themed props to enhance the backdrop of the stage during the daily skits.  Template and paint supplies are provided. 
  • Pre-Camp Team*:  Oversees VBC staff children, K- 6th grades in free play activities from 7:45am - 8:45am each morning. 

* Above teams are not required to attend the training meetings.

  • Registration Team:  Oversees walk-in camper registration the week of VBC.
  • Infant - Pre-k Team:  Cares for and teaches the VBC staff children, ages 0-4; curriculum provided.
  • Guide Team:  Accompanies and guides campers from activity to activity throughout the morning, providing encouragement, cheerful support and stability for campers as well as helping hands to the game, craft, and Bible leaders.
  • Bible Verse Game Team:  Oversees and organizes Bible verse games; curriculum provided.
  • Craft/Snack Team:  Oversees and organizes the craft and snack activities throughout the week for the designated grade level; curriculum provided.



(Please note that K-6th grades reflect the grade level the child enters in the fall)
Volunteer Information
If volunteer is a student, please select grade for the upcoming 2024-25 school year. *Please note: We request the parent/guardian of all 7th graders and 8th graders who are serving for the first time to also volunteer as their child's mentor.*

Please note the required meetings:
Kick-off -- Friday, June 7, 6:30-9:00 p.m.
Send-off -- Saturday, June 22, 9:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m.
