Church Board Nominees

According to our church constitution, the nominating committee’s responsibility is to present church board nominees for Glenwood member vote at the Annual Meeting. Looking at 1 Timothy 3:1-13, a nominee should demonstrate spiritual maturity, manage his household well, manifest a servant’s heart, and endeavor to live his life above reproach.

2016 Church Board Nominees

Cliff Hodgins - Elder (Three Year Term)
Cliff and his wife, Linda, have attended Glenwood for nineteen years and have two grown children. He has served on the church board for fifteen years. Cliff serves at Glenwood as church board chairman and with Children’s Ministries.

Al Curtis - Elder (Three Year Term)
Al and his wife, Terri, have attended Glenwood for thirty-five years and have two grown children.  Al is the Director of Operations at Glenwood, an elder, and has served on the church board for twenty-seven years.

Wayne Cochran - Elder (Three Year Term)
Wayne and his wife, Margret, have attended Glenwood for sixteen years and have three children. He is Clinical Associate Professor of Computer Science at WSUV. Wayne has served at Glenwood as a LIFE Group leader and host and an Adult Equipping class teacher.

Stu Kilby - Deacon (Two Year Term)
Stu and his wife, Marcia, have attended Glenwood for twenty-six years and have three grown children. He has served on the church board for eight years. Stu serves at Glenwood as Deacon, chairman of the scholarship committee, LIFE Group leader, and leads the benevolence ministry.

Sean Chavez - Deacon (Two Year Term)
Sean and his wife, Chelsea, have attended Glenwood for seven years and have three children. Sean is a communications manager for Battle Ground Public Schools. He serves at Glenwood as an usher and volunteers in many capacities in the community. This is a first time appointment to the church board for Sean.

Emil Kulla - Trustee (Three Year Term)
Emil and his wife, Marci, have attended Glenwood for twelve years and have nine children. He has served on the church board for six years. Emil is a construction project manager and serves at Glenwood as church board trustee chairman, usher, and with the Helping Hands ministry.

Scott Karlsen - Trustee (Three Year Term)
Scott and his wife, Molly, have attended Glenwood for thirteen years and have four children. Scott is an optical engineer and has served at Glenwood in a number of ways including with Children’s Ministries and the Helping Hands ministry. This is a first time appointment to the church board for Scott.

Jeff Tompkins - Treasurer (One Year Term)
Jeff and his wife, Jona, have attended Glenwood for seventeen years and have two daughters. He has served on the church board for four years. Jeff is a local business owner and serves at Glenwood as church board treasurer, usher, and Haitian Leadership Development (HLD) president.

George Young - Sunday School Superintendent (One Year Term)
George and his wife, Brenda, have attended Glenwood for seventeen years and have four grown children.  George has served on the church board for three years.  He manages a lighting company and serves at Glenwood as church board Sunday school superintendent, usher, and team leader for the infant nursery.
