Youth choir

We invite all 3rd grade through college-aged students to participate in our Thanksgiving Celebration Choir!

Hutchisons

The Hutchisons are moving to South Africa for 2-3 years where Allen will be attending Stellenbosch University to pursue a PhD in Old Testament.  The church family is invited to help send them off on Sunday, November 4 at 12:15 p.m. in the Worship Center. If you’d like to thank Allen and his family, a basket for cards will be available at the Send-Off.

Operation Christmas Child ~ Shoeboxes will be available October 14 and 21. You can return them Sundays, October 28, November 4 and 11.

Here are some suggestions for your shoebox: pens, pencils and sharpeners, crayons, markers, notebooks, paper, solar calculators, coloring and picture books, etc. Don’t forget, you may enclose a note to the child and a photo of yourself, your family, or group. If you include your name and an address, the child may be able to write back.  For more information, visit glenwoodcc.org/occ.

For this combined Men's & Women's Ministries event, you choose the night for dinner and pick three restaurants you would enjoy.  We will send you an email to let you know the names of your dinner companions and the name of the restaurant (if you don't receive an email from us, please check your spam folder).  Event dates:  Friday, November 2nd at 6:30pm or Saturday, November 3rd at 5:00pm.

College-age and up are invited to participate in this church-wide event.   The cost for the evening is only the price of your meal. Sign up below!

Dear Glenwood Community Church,

Debbie and I, for several months now, have been recruiting, planning, and preparing for our next mission trip. On October 5th I will be leading a team of 7 people from the body of Christ to the country of Sao Tome and Principe.  Sao Tome and Principe are African Islands off the northern coast of the country of Gabon, West Africa.

Attention Parents of Two-Year-Olds - Fifth-Graders ~ Sunday, September 16 is Promotion Sunday, and all students will return to their indoor classrooms and move into their new class level.  If you have children from two years of age to fifth grade, and their birthdate is before or on August 31, they will move to their next class level.  If, however, you would like your student to remain in his/her current class, please call the Children’s Ministries office at (360) 571-3300 and we will make the roster adjustment.

Patrick Schreiner

We are delighted to have Dr. Patrick Schreiner as our guest speaker on Sunday morning, September 16. Dr. Schreiner is Assistant Professor of New Testament Language and Literature at Western Seminary in Portland, OR. He is also an elder at Christ Church Sellwood in Portland, OR. Dr. Schreiner teaches a number of New Testament, Theology and Greek classes at Western. He and his wife Anna have four children.

Alpha logo

Do you know someone who isn't a Christian but may be interested in learning more about what it looks like to follow Jesus? If so, invite them to join you at one of our intro to Christianity Alpha groups Thursday nights at Glenwood and Mondays nights at the YMCA (11324 NE 51st Cir, Vancouver, WA 98682) from 6:00-8:00pm. The groups are six weeks long and designed for you to attend with a non-Christian friend. Each week will include dinner, discussion, and a learning time together using the Alpha Film Series. You do not need to have attended previous sessions to come.

UPDATE 8/25/18: The road is now open again.

 

For those who use westbound NE 119th Street to get to the church campus, please note there is a road closure on NE 119th Street beginning Friday, Aug 10. From Clark County:

Northeast 119th Street, from east of Northeast 99th Avenue to west of Northeast 102nd Avenue, will be closed for construction at the Chelatchie Prairie Railroad crossing.

The closure will begin at 7 am Friday, Aug. 10, and end no later than 11 pm Sunday, Aug. 26.
