Here are some pictures that Mason sent of the work to date on the kitchen at Merger. Looks like it has finally dried out enough to start the work! Praise the Lord! For more information, see the CENV Building Project.
Do you love to bake? If so, your delicious breakfast breads, muffins, and cookies would be so appreciated by the high school students participating in the upcoming mission trip in July. Please label your baked goods “HS Mission Trip” and drop them off at the Foyer Table on either Sunday, July 1 or 8.
The team has finished up work in Doro, South Sudan and are currently in Kenya. They soon begin the long journey home through multiple airports and so many time zones! The weather was VERY hot (often over 120 degrees F), but with perseverance, the team made it through. Please pray for the team's safe return. [UPDATE 6/27: The team made it home safely last night!]
School is over and summer is here! This year the High School Ministry at Glenwood is heading to Long Beach, Washington to enjoy a week of sun, sand, water, and hiking!
Join us for an adventure filled week of camping, swimming, hiking, boating and playing on the beach.
Parents of middle school and high school students, mark your calendars! You are invited to a student ministry parent dinner on Friday, July 20 from 5:30 - 8:00 p.m.
Come and enjoy dinner with other parents and youth leaders, hear about the student ministries at Glenwood, and strategize with other parents about ways to help your kids grow in their love for God and neighbor this year.
On July 8th through 14th, we will be sending a group of high school students and staff for a week of outreach in Clackamas, OR. We will be partnering with Spring Mountain Bible Church to provide a Vacation Bible School for local kids and engage the community in various service projects.
Please pray that the community and children at the VBS would have open and receptive hearts. Pray that our students would learn more about God’s love for them and how to show that love to others.
Praise! The G.O. team has made it safely to Doro, South Sudan. The trip has gone well thus far. Even all of their bags are with them. They are excited to begin working. Pray for continued protection and for many opportunities to be a blessing to the people who are there.
The team (L to R): Tim, Brian, Ken, Jim
On Saturday, June 2nd, men of Glenwood enjoyed a fantastic breakfast made by Brian Ford and his team of cooks (food engineers, really, when we're talking about that much food tasting that good). We then heard from Phil Long and Justin Swift. Phil shared with us 3 of his spoken word poems which emphasized the importance of pointing other people to Jesus rather than ourselves. Justin talked about the nature of leadership and what it means that Jesus leads us -- we lead others best when we are following Him.
Haitian coffee (ground and whole bean) is available for purchase at the Foyer Table Sunday morning, May 27. Bruce & Cindy McMartin (long-time GCC missionaries with Crossworld in Haiti) are working with Vision d’Antioche, a Haitian mission organization which mobilizes evangelical Haitian churches to equip, send, and sustain Haitian missionaries for world evangelism. All proceeds will go to support Vision d’Antioche.
How can a biblical worldview impact your perspective on iPhones, fossils, and forms of government? Does how we define truth and reality really change how we talk at a neighbor's BBQ? Does our understanding of the Trinity and God's Image affect what we think of the annoying guy in front of us at the check out line?
Thank you to everyone who helped with the STM sale. We are grateful for you and for God’s provision! We are excited to send out so many short term missionaries to preach the Good News of Jesus Christ!
The powerpoint slides from Weeks 2-5 of the Revelation class with Stephen Kim are now posted with each session. See the class link below for both the notes and audio.
Revelation: The Completion of God's Plan through Jesus Christ
