Jambo!  We look forward to traveling together on our Kingdom of the Son Prayer Safari!  Below you will choose the ages and areas in which you'd like to serve during our vacarious time in the African Serengeti, June 26-30, from 9am - 12pm, Monday - Friday.

Mark your calendar for travel preparation on Friday, June 2nd, 6:30-9:00pm for our VBC KIck-off Meeting., Monday, June 19th, 11-5pm for our decoration preparation day, and Saturday, June 24th, from 9:00am-12:00pm, for our VBC Send-off Meeting.

VBC Camp Descriptions
  • Bakers*:  Bake treats for VBC campers to enjoy during camp.  Baked goods are brought to the church on or before Sunday, June 18th.  Recipes will be provided.
  • Decorator Team*:  Assists in preparing decorations for classrooms on designated decorating day in June.  Preparation may include tracing, cutting, coloring, and painting using materials provided.  Work can be completed off-site.
  • Skit Backdrop Team*:  Paints stage backdrop on 4’ x 8’ flats. These will be positioned at the back of the stage for the week of VBC to enhance the skits and opening and closing sessions. Template and supplies are provided.
  • Pre-Camp Team*:  Oversees VBC staff children, K- 6th grades in free play activities from 7:45am - 8:45am each morning. 

* Above teams are not required to attend the training meetings.

  • Skit Director: Directs skit characters for daily drama.
  • Skit Character Team:  Acts in the daily skits beginning weekly practice in March.
  • VBC Music Leader: Leads VBC Singers in learning music and choreography for the daily songs.
  • VBC Singer Team:  Sings the daily songs for the opening and closing sessions.  Practice begins weekly in April.
  • Registration Team:  Oversees walk-in camper registration the week of VBC.
  • Infant - Pre-k Team:  Cares for and teaches the VBC staff children, ages 0-4; curriculum provided.
  • Grade Level Leaders: Oversee and lead the team of craft, game, Bible story, and guide volunteers for one of the combined grade levels.
  • Bible Storyteller:  Prepares and presents the daily Bible lesson three times throughout each morning. Curriculum is provided.
  • Guide Team:  Accompanies and guides campers from activity to activity throughout the morning, providing encouragement, cheerful support and stability for campers as well as helping hands to the game, craft, and Bible leaders.
  • Bible Verse Game Team:  Oversees and organizes Bible verse games; curriculum provided.
  • Craft/Snack Team:  Oversees and organizes the craft and snack activities throughout the week for the designated grade level; curriculum provided.
  • Photographer:  Photographs campers participation in the various activities of the morning throughout the week.



(Please note that K-6th grades reflect the grade level the child enters in the fall)
Volunteer Information
If volunteer is a student, please select grade for the upcoming 2023-24 school year. *Please note: We request the parent/guardian of all 7th graders and 8th graders, who are serving for the first time, to also volunteer as their child's mentor.*

Please note the required meetings:
Kick-off -- Friday, June 2, 6:30-9:00 p.m.
Send-off -- Saturday, June 24, 9:00am-1:00 p.m.
